Dream Canadian House Plans | Canada Home Designs
Whether you’re building a Craftsman bungalow in British Columbia or a Cottage Country getaway in Ontario, you’ll find your dream Canadian house plan here.* Want a petite A-frame cabin with a loft and a great view? How about a Prairie dream home for building in Alberta? Or maybe a chic contemporary narrow-lot plan for an urban lot in Toronto would fit the bill. European-inspired homes would look just right in Quebec, and you’ll find them here. How about a rugged Craftsman-inspired design? Farmhouses and ranch homes, elegant empty nests and spacious family homes – they’re all here. No matter which province or territory you’re building in, you’ll find the right home design.
If you’re looking for a lakefront vacation home or mountain cabin, you’ll find plenty of those here. Discover designs with window walls, decks, walkout basements, and other features to take advantage of a scenic location. Of course, a vacation home doesn’t have to be a rustic log cabin (though we’ve got those), but can also take the form of a sleek contemporary cottage with clean lines. Remember to include a fireplace and an open kitchen where everyone can cook a meal together!
Building a home in a region with cold weather requires special design considerations, so many of the homes in this collection offer 2 x 6 framing to provide room for extra insulation. Mudrooms give you extra storage for boots, heavy coats, and other gear, while also protecting the rest of the home from dirt and debris. Many of these designs include basement foundations. And of course, cozy fireplaces are a must.
Need room dimensions in metric? Because many of the designs here are from Canadian designers, you’ll find that the measurements are offered in metric as well as imperial systems. However, our modification service can also help you if your chosen design needs converting.
*This collection may include a variety of plans from designers in the region, designs that have sold there, or ones that simply remind us of the area in their styling. Please note that some locations may require specific engineering and/or local code adoptions. Be sure to check with your contractor or local building authority to see what is required for your area.
